Angola, IN (February 14, 2008)

 The 2008 racing season at the Angola Motor Speedway will kick off with the annual Driver Meet N’ Greet at Rapid Raceway in Angola on Saturday March 1, 2008.  This year the excitement will start at 10am with the “Prelude to the Championship” Go Kart Race.  Anyone 16 years old or older with a valid ID can sign up for this event and have a chance to go home with the title for 2008.  “In the past we have held the Race of Champions and only allowed drivers compete in this event, but in 2008 it is about getting the fans to interact with the drivers and teams.  This year will are inviting fans, driver, team members, media and anybody else that would like to have some fun to be involved!” stated Track Promoter Wes Parrish.   The people that have entered into the event will draw for positions in heat races with the top finishers advancing into 1 of 2 semi events.  The top finishers in the semis will go into the “Prelude Main Event” and compete for the title. 

                There will be a Questions and Answer Session with the 2008 Angola Motor Speedway Tech Team beginning at Noon and going for about an hour or so for all the drivers and teams that may have some unanswered questions.  Pizza Hut  “The Official Pizza of the Angola Motor Speedway” will provide FREE pizza for the event along with “The Official Soft Drink of AMS” FAYGO soda.  Pizza and drinks will be available beginning at 1pm and while supplies last! 

                Veteran Drivers along with the Lincoln Electric Rookie of the Year Contenders will have a chance to register and rent pit slabs for the 2008 season.  Other information about the 2008 season will be available as well.  Fans will have a chance to win an Entertainment Package featuring use of a VIP Suite with 4 passes including food and drink for a night, a $500 value!  Drivers will have a chance to win a custom Hero Card Package valued over $100 courtesy of MyHeroCards.com featuring custom hero cards starting at $40.  This is a great time for everyone to pick up a 2008 Race Schedule and start marking your calendar for one of the best seasons in history at the Angola Motor Speedway!
