Dear Angola Motor Speedway Fans & Drivers,

The 2012 racing season is fast approaching, and I know drivers and loyal fans of Angola Motor Speedway are looking forward to events at the track, as you have done in years past.

Many of you are likely aware that I assumed ownership of the track in January 2011 after my father, Richard Poe, passed away. Since then, my family and I have been working to find the best way to keep the speedway running with action-packed, family-friendly events.

Our research led us to a difficult conclusion: we need to seek new ownership for the speedway and we will be unable to host racing events during the sales process. While we tried to find a solution that would allow us to avoid this scenario, we have realized it is in the best interest of both drivers and fans that the track has a dedicated, passionate owner with a long-term commitment to run the track the way my late father envisioned it.

I would like to thank Craig Everage for the years of service he and Everage Auto provided to the speedway. I would also like to thank the drivers and fans, whose support of the speedway and the sport of racing have made it a fixture in the community. We aim to find a buyer whose goal is to build upon that legacy.

We have begun the effort to find a new owner for the property who can make a consistent commitment to the venue and the sport of racing in the years to come. We hope that you understand and respect the difficult decision that we have made and we look forward to a new chapter for the Angola Motor Speedway.
